Getting things done...

I'm on vacation currently. Ah, bliss... One of the things I'm looking forward to doing (in fact, it's one of my new year resolutions - back in 2005...) was to start a blog... well, so here it is, finally! It's much easier to set up than I had initially thought. In fact, that's how life is like isn't it? You'll never know how difficult a task is, until you really do it. I'm sure I can attribute that quote to someone... Right now, what comes to mind is this book I read a while ago. It's by David Allen called Getting Things Done. If a piece of work can get be completed in 2 mins, then just go do it! When I was a child, I recall my mother had a variation of that, but her way of putting is like "IF YOU DON'T DO IT NOW, I'll ______ (fill in the blanks with your favourite discipline equipment) YOU!!! I'm sure you had similar experience.

Well, starting a blog wasn't as easy as a 2 mins job for me, as it is for many of you I'm sure. But, it sure was a load of my head! David Allen's book had something to say on that too - if you can do a brain dump on paper ie write down everything that's on your mind, your level of stress will definitely drop. Quite a useful book, I'll say. It has certainly helped me.

There's another skill I'm planning to pick up this vacation... but more on that later...
